The Ministry of Mines and Energy has established a Committee for the Operation and Supply of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (GLP).
The committee's primary objective is to provide recommendations for a secure, reliable, continuous, efficient, and economical LPG supply chain.
Membership includes representatives from the Ministry of Mines and Energy, CREG, UPME, Ecopetrol, and selected LPG wholesalers.
Selection of private sector representatives will be based on reported sales and import data from the previous year.
The committee's functions include coordinating government actions, making operational and technical recommendations, collecting statistics, monitoring supply and demand, and formulating contingency plans.
