TL;DR
- UN expert Chaloka Beyani warned of a "foreseeable probability" of genocide in North Darfur, Sudan.
- Systematic and ethnic attacks by the RSF and allied militias against specific communities may indicate intent to destroy these groups.
- Both the RSF and the Sudanese Army have committed grave violations of international humanitarian and human rights law.
- Acts documented include mass killings, sexual violence, torture, arbitrary detentions, ethnic persecution, and starvation as a method of war.
- The advisor expressed concern about potential atrocities in Kordofan due to sieges.
- Recommendations include a ceasefire, an inclusive peace process, and halting the flow of arms into Sudan.
- The ongoing war has caused tens of thousands of deaths and displaced over thirteen million people.
