En reciente oficio, la Procuradora 03 Judicial II para Asuntos Ambientales y Agrarios de Cartagena llamó la atención al Distrito en cuanto a que, en octubre de 2022 Cardique presentó denuncia penal por daño en los recursos naturales y fraude a resolución judicial ante la Fiscalía General de la Nación, en contra del Alcalde de la ciudad en ese momento, o quien hiciera sus veces, así como contra las demás personas que resultaran responsables por la comisión de los hechos y omisiones relacionados con el relleno sanitario de Henequén.
