TL;DR
- The Colombian right-wing is characterized by arrogance, a lack of listening, and an inability to adapt to social changes.
- Despite Gustavo Petro's perceived poor governance, the opposition has failed to capitalize on it, resorting to repetitive criticisms.
- The right has reduced Petro to their sole narrative, leading to self-minimization and an inability to evolve.
- Instead of building alternatives, they mirror the government's impulsiveness and superficiality.
- Colombia has changed, and outdated slogans like 'Castro-Chavismo' are no longer effective.
- The new middle class is fragile and less ideological, while youth distrust extremes.
- Citizens are tired of political polarization and desire competence over rhetoric.
- Victory is impossible without the political center, which rejects extremism and demands viable solutions.
- The right needs to articulate a serious centrist proposal that unites rather than divides.
- The right's strategic mediocrity and internal fragility, not Petro, will lead to future defeats if they fail to transform.
